A Child in God’s Garden

Our family continues to miss and grieve the tragic loss of my precious daughter. Even so, I'm eternally thankful that Amanda chose to accept Jesus into her life as Lord and Savior. Nothing comforts us more than knowing she made the decision to trust Jesus at the young age of ten, securing her eternal destiny and beginning her faith walk with Him.

There were many opportunities and discussions to stay-the-course, the narrow path.  I'd often say, ‘If Jesus put you on this path, he'll see you through.’  MATTHEW 7:13-14 instructs us to “Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

It was a blessing as a mom to hear her recount His faithfulness while persevering and gracefully addressing challenging life situations. So it's my intention to encourage all mothers, fathers and anyone working with children to teach well, modeling best behavior as witnesses for the Lord.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."   - GALATIANS 5:22-23

Truth be told, patience has been my nemesis. Patience was and still is an area for me to address in my own faith walk.

Our hope and reward is found in PROVERBS 22:6"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Yet if we don’t teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to.

The culture is strong, and we each need to ask the Lord for strength to display our best each day. I pray that each of us makes eternal investments in the lives of children in our places of influence. Everyone at CCC sends wishes and prayers for Happy Mother's and Father's Days to all who are raising or supporting our impressionable children, youth and young adults.
